DIRECTIONS FOR APPLICATION
APPLES – to protect fruit from sunburn
Mix 60# Sun-Guard in 100 gallons of water, add 2# Sun-Guard Part II. Apply first spray when apples are 1 ½ inch diameter. Apply 200 to 400 gallons per acre. Apply touch-up spray if needed to maintain good coverage during periods of high temperatures.
RED DELICIOUS APPLES – to protect fruit from sunburn
Mix 40# Sun-Guard in 100 gallons of water, add 1# Sun-Guard Part II. Apply 200 to 300 gallons per acre. May be applied up to three weeks before harvest.
CITRUS
To reduce June Drop due to high temperatures, apply full coverage spray after bloom. Mix 60# Sun-Guard in 100 gallons of water, add 2# Sun-Guard Part II. Apply 300 to 400 gallons per acre.
To protect fruit from sunburn, apply 200 to 300 gallons per acre to the southwest portion of the tree.
Tangerines – Do not spray on tangerines that are to be picked with leaves.
CHERRIES – to reduce the incidence of doubles due to high temperatures
Mix 60# Sun-Guard in 100 gallons of water, add 2# Sun-Guard Part II. Apply 200 to 300 gallons per acre after harvest.
DECIDUOUS TREES - to protect limbs from sunburn
Mix 60# Sun-Guard in 100 gallons of water, add 2# Sun-Guard Part II. Apply 200 to 300 gallons per acre. Apply pre-bloom. Grafts and young trees may be sprayed any time.
GRAPES – for sunburn protection on raisin and wine grapes
Mix 60# Sun-Guard in 100 gallons of water, add 2# Sun-Guard Part II. Apply 200 to 300 gallons per acre.
TOMATOES – for sunburn protection – apply when sufficient fruit is exposed to warrant protection.
Air Equipment – Mix 60# Sun-Guard in 100 gallons of water, add 2# Sun-Guard Part II. Apply 100 gallons per acre.
Ground Equipment – Mix 60# Sun-Guard in 100 gallons of water, add 2# Sun-Guard Part II. Apply 100 to 200 gallons per acre.
WALNUTS
One full coverage spray after June 1 or when temperatures are expected to exceed 95°. Mix 60# Sun-Guard in 100 gallons of water, add 2# Sun-Guard Part II. When applying at low pressure or by air, add 6 ounces good liquid spreader.
Air Application – Apply 150 to 200 gallons per acre
Ground Equipment – Apply 350 to 500 gallons per acre depending on equipment, number and size of trees per acre.
